VSA/AVETRA RESEARCH INSIGHTS PARTNERSHIP

PROJECT 6 – CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Research Insight Topic: ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’

Funding Available:   Maximum $40,000

Book a 1:1 Project Briefing

Individual researchers (who may have interest in contributing as part of a project team), established research teams or partnerships interested in learning more about Project 6 of the VSA / AVETRA Research Insights Partnership are invited to book in for a 1:1 briefing with an AVETRA representative to discuss the project further.

ABOUT PROJECT 6

The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) is seeking to commission a research team / researcher to provide research insights about opportunities to develop and apply different approaches to ‘recognition of prior learning’ in the vocational education and training system.

This project aims to provide policymakers with a high-level overview of the ways in which RPL is conceptualised and applied in the Australian VET system, including a discussion of the key enablers and barriers impacting its use.

The primary output of the research will be a description of national and international best practices in the application of RPL and the identification of potential opportunities to apply them within the Victorian VET sector.

The outputs from this project will help inform the development of the Victorian VET Workforce Strategy and also support the Victorian Government in the development of possible approaches to address the recommendations of the Qualifications Reform Design Group final report, Victorian Skills Plans and actions identified in the Economic Growth Statement.
