AEShareNET

AEShareNet has been established to enable the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector to ‘discover’ resources, take out a copyright licence online and connect to the owner to arrange purchase. The site provides a series of standard copyright licence templates that can be completed online, giving instant approval for use of the product. The underlying principle is to encourage training organisations to re-use and re-purpose materials and save on development costs.

Directory of Education and Training Statistics (Australia)

This information can be found by clicking on the Data Sources link on the home page of the National Centre for Education and Training Statistics. This directory is a guide to the range of national statistical resources relating to education and training issues available in Australia. It is designed to assist users to identify publicly available data collections and publications. Generally, this directory is limited to only national collections due to the sheer size of the task of identifying all State and Territory or local collections. The directory covers all national ABS statistical collections produced during the 1990s which have education and training as a direct focus. It also includes a range of other national ABS data collections where the primary focus is not education and training, but which never-the-less contain data relevant to education and training.

Learning Communities Catalyst

The Learning Communities Catalyst website was launched on 1 September 2003. It is a collaboration between Adult Learning Australia, the Australian Learning Communities Network, the Australian Local Government Association and EdNA Online. The website has been established to serve as a repository of information, research, case studies and practical tools to assist communities, councils, government, businesses, policy-makers and other stakeholders researching, advocating for and developing learning communities. The site provides the technology to facilitate collaboration, debate and information exchange for those involved in learning communities, and allows those communities without the resources or expertise to create their own website a simple way to establish an online presence.

National Industry Skills Initiative

Late in 1999, the Australian Commonwealth Minister for Education, Training and Youth Affairs, in conjunction with leading Industry and Business organisations, instituted an industry led process designed to establish the steps that industry, government, and the partnership of both could take to redress industry skill shortages. This web site provides an overview of the Skills Initiative, contains links to specific industry skill shortage reports, speeches, media releases, cross industry issues and contacts.

National Training Information Service

The National Training Information Service has been developed by ANTA to provide access to current and emerging training market information and products in vocational education and training. Currently, the NTIS comprises a database of VET accredited courses; competency standards; Training Packages and training providers and text information on a range of complementary issues.

Statistical Clearing House (Australia)

The Statistical Clearing House is the central clearance point for all Australian Commonwealth Government surveys involving 50 or more businesses. The aim of the clearance process is to reduce the burden placed on businesses in completing Commonwealth Government surveys by eliminating duplication and ensuring that good practice is followed when designing and conducting business surveys. VOCED

VOCED is the UNESCO/NCVER research database for technical and vocational education and training, an international database of research abstracts, in English. The VOCED database covers the topics of vocational education and training research, policy, practice, training systems and published statistics. It has extensive coverage of Australian material and includes a wide range of key international information. It is produced by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), based in Adelaide, South Australia.

ERIC – Educational Resources Information Center

The core function of ERIC is to provide a centralised bibliographic database of journal articles and other published and unpublished education materials, including vocational education and training information. Centre for Post-compulsory Education and Training (CPET)

The Centre for Post-compulsory Education and Training (CPET) was established as a Research Partner of the Australian National Training Authority at the beginning of 2000. It is made up of a team of researchers from the University of Melbourne Educational Outcomes Research Unit and RMIT University. The Centre provides training for a large number of research students. Dusseldorp Skills Forum

The Dusseldorp Skills Forum (DSF) is an independent, not for profit body with a mission to achieve changes needed to enable all Australians to reach their potential. National Centre for Vocational Education Research

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) is Australia’s national vocational education and training research and development centre. NCVER is responsible for the collection of national vocational education and training statistics and for managing employer, student and graduate surveys relating to vocational education and training outcomes and performance. NCVER provides specialist research, development and evaluation services to government and industry clients as part of their core role and on a commercial consulting basis. The Centre manages the national VET research and evaluation program. NCVER publishes widely in print and on the web on all aspects of the VET sector: research findings, conference and discussion papers, a quarterly newsletter and regular statistical data on trainees, apprenticeships and TAFE graduates.

RIVET has evolved from a research group at Charles Sturt University previously known as GREAT. UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre

From 1992 to 1999, UNEVOC was UNESCO’s International Project on Technical and Vocational Education. During 2000-01 the UNESCO International Programme on Technical and Vocational Education Training was implemented. A major activity of the programme has been the establishment of the International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training based in Bonn, Germany.
